In Our Own Words.

We recently asked the congregation the question: What would you like people to know about Camas Friends? This was our response…

We are God loving, Christ centered. Welcoming, nurturing.

We accept people as they are and where they are.

Camas Friends is a place not only to worship under Quaker leadership but to share our experiences and grow as a community together. Leadership in the church is more of facilitating – personal growth is inquiry based.

This church is deep, refreshing, and kind. I am consistently impressed with the services every time I attend.

We are here and fulfilling our Mission.

This is a church that loves God and has a warm, welcoming spirit.

It’s a casual and friendly place that shows everyone a path to God. All are accepted.

I love the casual atmosphere, where if my child talks too loudly during silent time, people won’t be mad or judge us; where I can wear jeans, even take off my shoes; where my friends can knit during the service…

We have a yearning to help others and accept people from all walks of lives.

We want them (people) to join us on our journey.

We are Christian and we accept you….Really. We have good (free range eggs). We give space and share our space when asked. Our pastor is cool.

That God is at work in our daily lives. That they will find a warm and loving meeting of Friends.

It is a place to seek and grow safely on your spiritual walk. Christ-centered.

Sinners are Welcome! The people who worship at Camas Friends are kind, loving, non-judgmental, Bible believing, and teaching and preaching.

Our loving presence in the Camas Washougal area. Our desire to bring Christ to everyone.

Everyone is welcome here.

That we are open to ideas and welcome people who ask questions.

We are serving God in our daily lives.

That we value people in our community and want to share our values and resources with them.

We would be so beneficial to many people in the community – if they only know.

We are open to all and to come and try it out. Our service is not 100% silent.

We care for the community.

We work together as a community and this we consider worship.

It’s a good place to grow and change without being forced down any particular path. The people are very open and willing to teach without lecturing.

A safe, welcoming place to worship Christ and to learn about and grow as a believer. The importance of each person (not the “church”). The focus on your personal relationship with Christ.

A spacious place, a place where we learn how to listen, and we try to work together. We are a Quaker meeting.
