Camas Friends Church

A Quaker Meeting in Camas, WA

This Week: Yearly Meeting, State of the Church, etc.

Hi Friends,

Writing to you from my 4th office out here in Chapter’s Coffee and Books in Newberg Oregon! (It’s good to have a number of offices wherever one goes!). It doesn’t hurt that two of my favorite things in the world (besides of course, my family and my church) are under this roof! Yearly Meeting has been going really well. It’s been a delight to be here with Friends from all over, worshiping together and doing business as a body. There has been a lot of positive buzz about our upcoming superintendent nomination as well, so I’m looking forward to that tomorrow morning.

This Sunday I will be bringing to you the State of the Church Report. I am excited to share with you all the ways God has been with us in the past year. Thank you for such an overwhelming response with our feedback cards a few weeks back. I hope that you’ll be moved into worship during our time of sharing this week. During open worship you’ll be invited to share from your own experience. And in terms of thinking ahead, consider this week the places you may be seeing God prompt us as a community or you individually to do/be/move? What might your role in the fulfillment of that be? This last Sunday Zachary talked about being called out of our comfortable places, what are the places where we are comfortable?

Finally, next week (Friday the 5th) we have been invited to join Multnomah Monthly Meeting for a dinner and presentation at their meetinghouse. Do you have interest in attending? Here’s the information:
