When: Friday, July 12, from 8:30pm to 9:30pm
Where: Camas Friends Church parking lot (please park on a nearby street, if able)
About: Shouldn’t the most vulnerable among us be met with compassion? When desperate people show up at our borders, don’t they deserve to be treated with dignity? Shouldn’t all children receive care and nurture, no matter their circumstances?
On July 12th, Camas Friends Church will be hosting a candlelit vigil in our parking lot. We will call for an end to human detention camps. We will protest the inhumane conditions faced by asylum seekers and refugees. We call on our elected officials to prioritize the dignified treatment of all people who come into custody of the United States government, with particular care for vulnerable children.
We are part of a nationwide network of vigils being coordinated for this date. https://www.lightsforliberty.org/
