Family Promise of Clark County

Camas Friends Church supports the important work being done by Family Promise of Clark County (FPCC). “Family Promise® of Clark County is a nonprofit organization committed to help children and their families affected by homelessness in the Clark County, WA area. Over 2200 children are without a fixed address in the Evergreen and Vancouver School districts.  Over 3000 children are without a fixed address in all of Clark County.  Family Promise® welcomes families with children experiencing homelessness, puts them into immediate temporary shelter, gets the children to school, and assists parents with permanent long term solutions.  It is an established and successful program, but we need help getting the program running here in Clark County and there are many ways to make a difference.” (From FPCC’s site)

If you need emergency shelter right now please contact Family Promise of Clark County at 360-210-5165.

While there are a variety of ways to support the work of FPCC, Camas Friends Church currently participates through individual volunteering at the Day Center (in Camas, just up the street from our meetinghouse) and through intermittent financial support. If you would like to collaborate with us in supporting Family Promise by volunteering or donating, please email matt@camasfriends.org to discuss further. Or, visit Day Center Volunteers to learn how to become trained as a volunteer. Presently, FPCC’s current most urgent volunteer need is on Saturdays (for 1 1/2 hour shifts) but there are also opportunities to volunteer throughout the week.
