We had a fabulous meeting for worship this morning! Roughly 40 of us (including kids) gathered via Zoom for this “experiment.” Eric Smith led us in singing. Jazmin Miller led us in prayer. Matt shared some reflections on Ephesians 5:8-16a. Several offered vocal ministry during open worship. Many shared prayer requests. Technological glitches occurred and were (mostly) overcome! We cannot meet in person but, nevertheless, we persist! Thank you to those that joined this week. Look forward to meeting again next Sunday. Here’s the link for next Sunday’s meeting…same link we used for today: https://zoom.us/j/818344284
Here is video of the reading, message, and queries from this morning…
Ephesians 5:8-16a (NRSV):
8 For once you were darkness, but now in the Lord you are light. Live as children of light— 9 for the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true. 10 Try to find out what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to mention what such people do secretly; 13 but everything exposed by the light becomes visible, 14 for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,
Rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
15 Be careful then how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, 16 making the most of the time…
Query: Which observation, affirmation, caution, challenge, or encouragement from this text did I most need to hear this morning?
