No Fresh Bread July to Aug—Will resume September 13

Fresh Bread meets Wednesdays from 7:00pm to 8:15pm at the Camas Friends Meeting House (in the pastor’s office).

Our most recent books include:

  • Julie Clawson’s Everyday Justice: The Global Impact of our Daily Choices. We considered the implications of several facets of our daily life on justice around the world. This book provoked some fruitful discussion about how to live out our love for God and others in small but important, practical ways.
  • Philip Gulley’s Living the Quaker Way: Discover the Hidden Happiness in the Simple Life. We explored the Quaker testimonies of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, and equality and how these connect to contemporary issues–personal, relational, and social. Our discussion was particularly timely in light of the anticipation and aftermath of the national election.
  • Jim Wallis’s America’s Original Sin: Racism, White Privilege, and the Bridge to a New America. Participating in racial justice aligns with our meeting’s values. Our conversations around this book were engaging and a positive step toward such participation.

Fresh Bread Discussions are a great time to ask questions, get to know each other, and engage in spiritual formation. Hope to see you there!
