Green Fund

Think Globally, Act Locally

Honor the past, sustain our future

We worship on lands that originally sustained the Chinook People of the Columbia River. Today we seek to lessen the harm of human activity on the land we steward by implementing greener operations of the physical plant and grounds. The Camas Friends Church Green Fund offers a way for the people who use our land to pay a self-imposed carbon tax to cover costs of green up-grades.

Guidelines of the CFC Green Fund:

As a way of grounding projects to care for the Earth, they can be categorized by the elements !

  • Earth: Soil improvement, planting and landscape, plastic minimization

  • Water: Drainage, stormwater management, water conserving plumbing fixtures

  • Fire: Energy conservation, heating, cooling, lighting, solar energy, window replacement, insulation

  • Air: Indoor or outdoor air quality improvement, mold and airborne allergen abatement

How the fund works:

  • Friends/donors are encouraged to consider donating an amount equal to a carbon tax calculated annually

  • Donations will generally be accepted without designation for any specific project

  • The church will consider accepting designated gifts under certain conditions
