Guest Speaker: Johan Maurer

Johan Maurer is a member of our church and also of Moscow Friends Meeting in Russia. He is a recorded minister in Sierra-Cascades Yearly Meeting of Friends. In his retirement he continues to do freelance translations from Russian to English; and he posts essays every Thursday at blog.canyoubelieve.me.

Recall a time when you might have felt guided by the Holy Spirit to receive a blessing from a stranger or give a blessing to a stranger (however you understand “stranger”). Was it sudden? Gradual? Who or what helped prepare you? 

Have there been, or are there now, language barriers in your life? (Literal or metaphorical.) What can we, the church, do to take away those barriers?
