Love and Life with God (Guest Speaker: Ruthie Tippin)
Ruthie loves coffee, perennial flower gardening, biographies and historical fiction, music, grandchildren, Jon, Jesus, all thing Quaker, and so much more… not necessarily in that order! She’s a member of Camas Friends, serves on the Nurture of Ministry (Recording) Committee for SCYMF and the Board of Right Sharing of World Resources. She also volunteers as the Children’s Coordinator for the Kalama Public Library. You can find her in Quaker Life, Fruit of the Vine, and other surprising places! She loves the work and witness of ministry among Friends – that gift each person is given through the life of the Spirit within.
Song of Solomon 2:8-13 (NRSV): Springtime Rhapsody
8 The voice of my beloved!
Look, he comes,
leaping upon the mountains,
bounding over the hills.
9 My beloved is like a gazelle
or a young stag.
Look, there he stands
behind our wall,
gazing in at the windows,
looking through the lattice.
10 My beloved speaks and says to me:
“Arise, my love, my fair one,
and come away;
11 for now the winter is past,
the rain is over and gone.
12 The flowers appear on the earth;
the time of singing has come,
and the voice of the turtledove
is heard in our land.
13 The fig tree puts forth its figs,
and the vines are in blossom;
they give forth fragrance.
Arise, my love, my fair one,
and come away.
For Open Worship:
Lie down in the Fire
See and taste the Flowing
Godhead through thy being;
Feel the Holy Spirit
Moving and compelling
Thee within the Flowing
Fire and Light of God.
