When God’s dreams for the world come true, what will have changed? When God’s dreams for the people I care most about come true, what will have changed? When God’s dreams for me come true, what will have changed?

“Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching people.” What invitation do I hear in these words? Who is struggling and on my heart? Who needs a net that I can help “put down”? What help do I need right now? What is this text saying to me about faith? Participation? Abundance? Connections? Jesus? The human struggle? Collaboration?

“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.”

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many….If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it.

When did a loving nudge help me take an important and life-giving step? Who has nurtured and supported me in the development and expression of my abilities? Who might need an affirming nudge from me? Am I feeling a nudge today?

What connections are most capturing my attention today? What connections would I like to explore, create, or strengthen in the coming months? Why might “connections” be an important focus for us in this season?
